Magento is great for large shops, we’ve used CubeCart for medium sized sites and even built bespoke shops when required. We were missing a low budget option for people wanting to dip their toe into the ecommerce scene.
Shopify is a web-based hosted solution with an easy and simple to use interface and a get out clause; if you ever need to shut shop you can cancel the following months subscription.
